Thomas L. Bird An attorney for over 25 years, Tom Bird’s practice has focused on commercial and tax law, including business law, business succession planning for family owned businesses, estate planning, and income tax planning for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts and estates. A graduate of the University of South Dakota Law School and Boston University School of Law, Tom is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota Bar Association, and the Hennepin County Bar Association. Tom has been serving SUPERVALU retailers since 1997 at Thomas L. Bird & Associates, P.A. Prior to 1997, Tom served as Director of Business Succession and Estate Planning at SUPERVALU and provided business, income and estate taxation as well as business succession planning services to retailers. Today, Tom provides extensive knowledge and expertise to a wide variety of supermarket retailers. Tom is regular speaker before a variety of groups, including the National Grocer’s Association and SUPERVALU seminars for supermarket retailers, retail accounting managers, area marketing directors, and retail business consultants. Catherine Shreves Over the past 20 years, Catherine has practiced in the areas of business law and income taxation of corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates, as well as estate and financial planning. She served as a tax manager in the national accounting firm of Laventhol and Horwath in Boston and is a Certified Financial Planningtm professional. She has practiced at Thomas L. Bird & Associates since its inception in 1997. In addition to her legal and financial work, she has served as a community leader in Minneapolis for 20 years, serving as President of the League of Women Voters of Minneapolis and Chair of the Minneapolis School Board.
